As youth gave way to age, health gave way to illness and on September 13, 2019 life gave way to death and our beloved Theodore Horace Hartley entered his eternal home.
Mr. Hartley was born to the late Horace Hartley, Sr. and Sadie Jenkins in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the oldest of four children.
He joined the Navy at an early age and served for six years. He later showed his patriotism by joining the Army for twenty years.
In 1987 he became a member of Second Baptist Missionary Church. He later moved his membership to Household of Faith World Outreach Center until his health began to fail. He joined the choir, was an usher and enjoyed Sunday School.
Mr. Hartley met no strangers. He just loved people and was always full of humor. Buster is missing his master, and he loved Buster his dog very much. With grateful hearts we give thanks to God for lending him to us.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife of 35 years. Christine Hartley: two sons, Jerome Hartley of Jacksonville, FL and Anthony Carr of Fayetteville; one sister Laura Hartley of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers George Hartley (friend Linda Barfield) of Jacksonville, FL and Henry Hartley (Brenda) of Marina, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
